Ice block shatters making mesmerising sound on frozen lake

After a lake in the USA froze over last week (January 13) one young man tried to break the surface with a block of ice on land, but instead, his block cracked, producing a mesmerising sound.

Shot near Halifax, Massachusetts the sound of the ice cracking reverberates across the whole lake giving a never-ending echo effect.

The thrower in question commented: "It was so fun just tossing a piece out and sitting back and listening to all the crazy pitched sounds. [It was] so fun and definitely addicting."
