Armenia's acting minister of education starts working visit to US
Acting Minister of Education and Science Araayik Harutyunyan has started a five-day working visit to the United States upon the invitation of Emanuel Shirajian, the president of the association of Armenian Engineers and Scientists of America (AESA).
Harutyunyan is set to attend the assosication's 35th session in Glendale (California), a landmark event expected to honor the internationally acclaimed Armenian scholar Yuri Hovhannisyan with the 2018 Victor Hambardzumyan price, reports the Ministry's press service.
The agenda includes also visits to the University of California and its southern branch, the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), as well as local Armenian schools. The acting minister is also scheduled to meet with US-Armenian scholars and education professionals, as well as representatives of municipal authorities.
The meeting are expected to focus on practical proposals, and discussions for the expansion of future cooperation in the sector.
