MADISON, S.D. (Jan. 16, 2019)—The Dakota State University Lady T's basketball team (2-16 overall record, 1-4 NSAA conference record) looks to swing back in the winning column as they return home this weekend.
The Lady T's welcome Waldorf (Iowa) (8-8 overall record, 3-2 NSAA conference record) in the North Star conference action on Friday evening. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. The North Star Athletic Association basketball conference wraps up their first-half portion of the schedule on Saturday versus Viterbo (Wis.) (7-11 overall record, 0-5 NSAA) at 3 p.m. Both games will be held at DSU Fieldhouse in Madison (1302 N. Washington Ave.).
Ironically, DSU will play WU and VU on back-to-back weekends. The Lady T's head to Viterbo next Friday (Jan. 18) and Waldorf next Saturday (Jan. 19) to kick off the second-half portion of the NSAA conference schedule.
Dakota State went 0-3 record on the road for the week last week, falling to No. 9-ranked Morningside (Iowa) 89-65 on Jan. 9. The Lady T's could not overcome a pair of second-half surges in the North Star contests, losing to Valley City State (N.D.) 88-73 on Jan. 11 and Mayville State (N.D.) 72-62 on Jan. 12. Waldorf kicked off their 4-game NSAA road trip with an 82-75 defeat at Dickinson State (N.D.) on Jan. 11, but bounced back in the winning column with an 85-74 win at Presentation (S.D.). Viterbo remains winless in NSAA contests, falling to PC 77-49 on Jan. 11 and DiSU 63-52 on Jan. 12.
Next Up: Dakota State heads on the road next weekend for another North Star weekend action, visiting Viterbo in La Crosse, Wis. on Jan. 25 at 5:30 p.m. and Waldorf in Forest City, Iowa on Jan. 26 at 3 p.m.
