Tricia Whitaker will be the new in-game reporter for Fox Sports Sun

Whitaker comes to the Rays from Indianapolis

Tricia Whitaker is a face and name Rays fans will want to get to know. She will be joining the Fox Sports Sun crew this spring to serve as the crew’s in-game reporter as well as a host of “Inside the Rays” for select episodes.

Whitaker has four years of sports reporting experience and most recently worked for CBS4 WTTV-TV in Indianapolis, IN. During her time in Indianapolis, when not doing sports reporting, she was an adjunct professor at the Indiana University teaching media classes.

She began as a basketball reporter, but has since covered all the major sports teams in Wisconsin, including the Brewers, meaning Whitaker is no stranger to reporting on baseball.

When asked about joining Fox Sports Sun to cover the Rays, Whitaker said, “This job is truly a dream come true, and I am thrilled to become a part of FOX Sports Sun’s Rays broadcast team. I grew up loving baseball and spent my springs and summers not only watching countless games with my dad, but using every vacation as an excuse to visit a new MLB ballpark. I am so excited for the upcoming season and to be a part of the Rays as they build on the outstanding 90-win season they had in 2018.”
