Spanish defence budget to rise 1.6%

Spain’s defence spending is set to rise by 1.6% to EUR8.53 billion (USD9.76 billion) in 2019 as part of the overall government budget presented to parliament by Treasury Minister María Jesús Montero on 14 January.

It is the first budget drawn up since the Spanish Socialist
