In theory, Cousins should be a nice fit in Steve Kerr’s offense. He should be able to fill the Draymond Green role in any offensive play, as well as the David West role in his old sets. Cousins is a good passer and has good floor vision. Kerr’s offense features a lot of entry passes to players in the post, who usually don’t try to score. Cousins now gives you that post scoring dimension. He can also occsaionally drive from the perimeter and hit threes.
In addition to Cousins’ playmaking in motion offense sets, certainly expect him to be screening in pick-and-rolls, rolling to the rim or popping out for jumpers. Occasionally, he will even be the handler.
To help us imagine the fit, we went through Cousins video and found him running versions of a couple of Steve Kerr’s pet plays. Here’s the video analysis.
