‘I am happy’ – Pochettino’s strange opinion on Llorente’s performance
Tottenham Hotspur clinched a last minute victory against their London rivals Fulham yesterday in the Premier League, despite the best efforts of Fernando Llorente.
The Spanish front man was into the side for just his second start in the Prem, with Harry Kane out injured until early March.
Normally Heung Min Son, or even Lucas Moura, would take Kane’s place up front, but they were away on international duty and injured respectively.
This left Llorente as Pochettino’s only real option up top, and the former World Cup winner got off to a nightmare start as he turned the ball into his own net in the first half.
Spurs struggled to recover from this mistake, and Fulham were unlucky not to go two ahead before half time.
