[Men's Basketball] Life builds cushion too big to overcome
Eljay Cowherd recorded a new career-high 29 points, but it was not enough to overcome a slow start for Georgetown College men's basketball. The Tigers (17-3, 3-2) were an icy 2-of-13 from deep in the first 20 minutes (15.4 percent), contributing to a double-digit deficit Sunday at Life University. The Running Eagles (14-7, 4-1) withstood some late rallies to hold on 97-88.
Joe Burton was a spark off the bench with 17 points, while Chris Coffey and Troy Steward each had 12.
Georgetown led 7-6 in the first minute and a half of action when the home team took control.
