Chairmen of 30 political parties and their leaders in Bauchi state have reportedly endorsed President Muhammadu Buhari, the candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2019 presidential election

The political parties also reportedly dissociated themselves from the speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara.

Daily Sun reports that in a press release signed by all the 30 chairmen of the parties, Comrade Abdullahi Muhammad of the All People’s Alliance (APA), who led the coalition, said they have decided to support Governor Mohammed Abubakar.

They said their support for the governor followed their realization that they have the same objectives with his party, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Muhammad, who briefed journalists about the development, said their endorsement of Governor Abubakar of the APC is based on national progress, economic transformation, peace, security, unity and national development.

“We are satisfied with the progressive agenda, developmental projects and policies of the present administration of President Muhammad Buhari and the governor of Bauchi state, Mohammed Abduahi Abubakar.

“We support their candidature in APC and we are committed to their success in the forthcoming general elections.

“We have firmly resolved to support and campaign for the candidates of APC in Bauchi state at all levels in the forthcoming 2019 general elections.

“No room for cracks shall be allowed to thwart our collective success in all elections,” he said.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Speaker Yakubu Dogara of the House of Representatives reportedly formed a coalition with six political parties and stakeholders in Bauchi with the major aim of ensuring that Governor Mohammed Abubakar is not re-elected.

Daily Sun reports that the convener of the coalition, Alhaji Mohammed Bello Kirfi, confirmed the development on Sunday, January 20, while speaking with journalists.

According to the report, the parties involved include the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), People’s Redemption Party (PRP), Alliance for Congress of Democrats (ACD), People’s Democratic Movement (PDM), and the Green Party of Nigeria (GPN).
