Iran air force commander: We cannot wait for the decisive war that will destroy Israel

The head of Iran's air force said Monday that Iran was impatient to fight and destroy Israel in retaliation for the Israeli attack on Iranian weapon facilities in Syria, said state-linked news website.

"We're ready for the decisive war that will bring about Israel's disappearance from the earth. Our young airmen are are fully ready and impatient to confront the Zionist regime and eliminate it from the Earth" Brig. Gen. Aziz Nasirzadeh was quoted as saying by state-linked the Young Journalists Club news agency.

A former fighter pilot, Nasirzadeh was named Iran's air chief by Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in August after serving as the acting commander for several months.

In the predawn hours of Monday morning, Israeli fighter jets targeted Iranian weapons storehouses, intelligence facilities and a training camp near Damascus during the bombardment, after Iran fired a missile from Syria at the Hermon ski resort a day earlier.

In addition, the Israeli Air Force bombed a number of Syrian air defense systems that fired on the attacking fighter jets.
