With all of those historians in high places (Blade columnist David Shribman, Larry Wilcox, Readers’ Forum) why do such bards of things past continue to ignore history when they lead governments? Offering a wall as a solution for anything is, to quote today’s Blade letter writer, (”Wall no solution” Jan. 8) “a stupid idea.” Who knows what Trump majored in, but did history major Pence not cover the Maginot line at small school Indiana?
