A drunken policeman escaped after a deadly attack on women.

The employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs became the person involved in the criminal case under the article "Violation of traffic rules, committed by a person in a state of intoxication and causing the death of a person by negligence", initiated by the regional administration board of the IC of Chuvashia.

According to a preliminary version, on the evening of Saturday, January 19, the senior investigator of the Russian Interior Ministry's department in the Yadrinsky district of the Chuvash Republic, while driving his Kia Rio while intoxicated, hit two women.

After the law enforcement officer knocked down pedestrians, he fled from the accident scene on Komsomolskaya Street in the city of Yadrin.

"From his injuries 79-year-old victim died at the scene, and the 67-year-old has suffered with various injuries taken to hospital, where she was given the necessary medical care", - stated in the message department.

Currently, the driver is detained, the necessary investigative actions are being taken.
