Arsenal given green light to complete signing of 25-year-old attacker

According to Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Nicolo Schira, Arsenal are free to complete the signing of Denis Suarez after Barcelona wrapped-up a shock deal to sign Kevin-Prince Boateng on loan from Sassuolo.

Suarez has been tipped for a move to Arsenal for several weeks after Unai Emery identified the out-of-favour Barca attacking midfielder as a potential January recruit.

The boss needs to bolster his attacking options as Danny Welbeck is out for the season through injury while Mesut Ozil has been frozen out by Emery in recent weeks so we need fresh blood during the second half of the season.

Emery has previously confirmed he can only sign players on loan this month as there is no money available for permanent transfers and we’ve been locked in talks with Barcelona over a deal to bring Suarez to north London.
