He made the statement when the FPP led by its regional coordinator, Ambassador Alkasim Aliyu paid him a courtesy call at the STF headquarters in Jos, the Plateau state capital.

Major-General Augustine stated that the insecurity in Plateau state has little to do with any farmer and herdsmen clashes, but rather the handiwork of criminals and bandits, which he said was similar to what is happening in Zamfara and Sokoto state.

Speaking on the 'vote not fight' campaign, he emphasized on the need for youths to avoid being used by politicians for political thuggery, as he vows that anyone found wanting will be appropriately dealt with.

He also encouraged the youths to travel across the country and explore interstate business opportunities and entrepreneurship, adding that the multicultural conflict exists only when the youths are into criminality or drug abuse.

Earlier, Aliyu told the commandant that the organization embarked on the visit to share with them it’s ongoing 'vote not fight' campaign.

The FPP coordinator also commended the STF for organizing the first Plateau Youth Summit, which he described as the first of its kind in the history of the state.
