Warriors’ Kevin Durant-Stephen Curry stagger appears to have come to an end
LOS ANGELES — The calls for Warriors head coach Steve Kerr to stop staggering Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant have finally been granted. With center DeMarcus Cousins now in the fold, Kerr is back to maximizing his two top scorers’ time together.
"For the most part, I think we’re at our best when those guys play most of the first (quarter)and most of the third," Kerr said of Curry and Durant. "So, you want to have a good combination to start the second and the fourth. A good combination that can defend and get you a bucket. Obviously, DeMarcus can help us in both areas. He’s an excellent passer."
In his Golden State debut Friday night against the Clippers, Cousins logged a three- or four-minute stretch to start all four quarters.
