Police officers fired, resign from south Mississippi town

COLUMBIA, Miss. (AP) - A group of five Mississippi police officers has left the force in a south Mississippi town under unexplained circumstances.

WDAM-TV reports Columbia's mayor and aldermen fired the city's assistant police chief, Rita Pickering, in a closed meeting earlier this month.
