Democrats Balk At Prospect Of Howard Schultz Running As An Independent

Former Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz said in a “60 Minutes” interview—to be aired Sunday—that he is seriously considering a presidential bid as an independent, according to a Saturday Atlantic report.

Democrats and never-Trumpers alike fear that all an independent candidate would do is siphon off votes from the ultimate Democratic candidate, throwing the election to President Donald Trump by default.

Schultz is a lifelong Democrat, but believes that moving away from increasingly polarized parties would unify the American people.
