Taliban insurgents and US officials have made 'significant progress' in talks to end the 17-year conflict in Afghanistan. US envoy Zalmay Khalilzad issued a series of tweets, saying the meetings were 'more productive' than in the past. Local media reports the outlines of an agreement have been reached following a week of discussions in Qatar. Taliban leaders insist they won't stop fighting until all foreign troops are ordered to leave. Mr Khalilzad says there are still a number of issues left to work out, tweeting 'nothing is agreed until everything is agreed'.
