The sun peaked through the clouds over North Boston, in New York’s Erie County, on Saturday, January 26, after a band of “lake effect” snow dropped 16.3 inches on the town in a 24-hour period. Hank Jr Breukelman set out in his plow on Saturday morning to clear some snow away, and shared this footage showing heavy accumulations in North Boston. According to local meteorologists, 17.2 inches of snow fell on Buffalo Airport, about 17 miles north of North Boston, breaking a record set in 1915. Credit: Hank Jr Breukelman via Storyful
