Equity Before Meritocracy: Why We Must Create Opportunities Before Rewarding Accomplishments

Companies must do their best to remove barriers and foster equity. Once we focus on equity, then the best and hardest working should absolutely be rewarded. But doing so before that can deter from creating diverse, inclusive high-functioning teams.
