The United States has banned its companies from buying equipment from Chinese tech giant Huawei. China claims the US is using state power to 'smear and attack' Huawei as US-China tensions continue ahead of scheduled trade talks. A suite of 23 charges was filed against the tech firm and its Chief financial officer, Meng Wengzhou including accusations staff were offered bonuses in exchange for stealing technology from other companies. Australia's own ban on Huawei yesterday saw TPG pulling out of building a 5G network here.
