Queensland premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has called north Queensland's flooding crisis a 'one in 100-year event'. Emergency evacuations are set to continue into the weekend with up to 500mm of rain predicted to fall across the region. The Ross River dam has been released due to fears of overflowing however there are renewed concerns for residents due to the influx of more water to regions downstream.
