DeAndre Jordan and Zubac
Listening to the Howard Beck podcast, he talked about the possibility that the Lakers could swap KCP and a second for DeAndre Jordan rental (expiring contract). This makes a lot of sense to me. The reality is that the Pelicans will probably wait till July to make an Anthony Davis deal but in the meantime the Lakers are still trying to make the playoffs. On the one hand having Jordan would set back Ivica Zubac' development. If the Lakers don't get Davis or don't include include Zubac in the deal he might be the Lakers Center for years to come, so setting back his development is a big deal.
On the other hand DeAndre Jordan rebounds like a monster, something the Lakers really need right now. With all the chaos and attention around Davis it's very easy to forget that the Lakers are still trying to get in the playoffs, and if there are some smaller trades that they can make that improve that possibility and maybe even get them to a 7th or 6th seed they have to pursue those.
DeAndre makes 23mil, kcp 12. I am not sure how the math works out, whether the Lakers could take on DeAndre Jordan without screwing up their chances at Davis or whether they could just swap kcp for DeAndre and take on the extra 11 million but if they could make it work he might be a very good addition to the team for this one year
