Saraki reacts to extension of PVC collection deadline by INEC
- INEC has been commended for extending the deadline for PVC collection
- According to Saraki, more people can not take part in the general elections
The president of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, has commended the extension of permanent voters’ cards by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
In a couple of tweets on Friday, February 8, Saraki described it as a great development.

He also said the extension will also allow more young people to be able to vote.
According to him, the PVC will allow the people vote for a government that will get the economy working again.
Legit.ng had reported that less than two weeks to the February 16th general polls, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has extended till Monday, February 11, 2019 as the deadline for the collection of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).
The disclosure was made in Abuja by the chairman of the commission, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, at the National Stakeholders' Forum on the 2019 general elections.

According to him, INEC will meet with resident electoral commissioners in the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory to review the collection rate and take an appropriate decision.
