[Men's Basketball] Threshers clip #22 Falcons on Senior Night; First Top-25 victory since 2003

NORTH NEWTON, Kan. - Looking to end a seven-game skid, the Bethel Threshers (14-15, 9-14) had a tall task ahead of them as they took on the #22 Friends Falcons (20-8, 16-7) on Senior Night. With the Falcons holding the lead throughout most of the game, Bethel was able to make up an 11-point differential in the final 10 minutes of regulation, and forced the Falcons to hit a last-second shot and force an overtime. From there the Threshers pushed the tempo and gained control of overtime, and refused to relinquish their lead. A stout-defense combined with clutch rebounds and baskets made for an impressive 72-67 overtime victory, their first over a Top-25 team since 2003 when they defeated Newman University (now NCAA DII) 82-80 in 2OT.
