Australian supermarket giants are at odds after Woolworths announced an increase in milk prices to help struggling dairy farmers, while Coles has not followed suit. Woolworths announced on Monday it would increase the price of its own-brand milk by 10c per litre, with the increase going directly to dairy farmers. Minister for Agriculture David Littleproud has come out in support of the move but says Coles and Aldi need to take similar action. Coles says it is exploring a 'long-term solution' that doesn't 'disadvantage customers', but also offers support for dairy farmers.
