There is concern across the crossbench that asylum seekers on Nauru and Manus Island in need of medical treatment will be transferred to Christmas Island. Prime Minister Scott Morrison announced the reopening of Christmas Island as a response to the medivac bill passing the Senate last week. Revelations surfaced today that the US have rejected 265 asylum seekers destined to enter the nation over security reasons following a resettlement deal.
