[Baseball] Rain Shortens Game against Biola, Hawks Fall 10-3
LA MIRADA, Calif. — Josh LaMonte hit his first homer of the season and Tyler Schindel and Ryan Lystlund tallied the other RBIs as the Hawks dropped a 10-3 game against Biola Monday.
The game was called in the bottom of the sixth inning due to rain. The Eagles scored five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning before the umpires and coaches collectively agreed to call off the game.
LaMonte's homer came in the top of the second inning to cut the deficit to one. Trailing 5-1 in the fifth, Schindel hit an RBI triple down the right field line scoring Hayden Gilbert. Lystlund then grounded out to second but it was enough to bring home Schindel from third.
Biola scored their five runs from two singles, two walks, and a wild pitch.
Brendan Sweany was tabbed with the loss. He threw two innings and allowed three runs, two earned.
The Hawks will open up GSAC play on Friday as the host Hope International for a DH starting at 11 a.m.
