[Women's Basketball] Women's Basketball Tournament Bracket Released

The bracket is set for the 2019 Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Women's Basketball Tournament. Indiana Tech is the tournament's top seed after winning the regular-season title with an 18-2 league record. Aquinas sits as the second seed with a 16-4 record. UM-Dearborn takes the third seed on a tiebreaker with Siena Heights. Both teams finished at 15-5, but UM-Dearborn won twice against SHU to put the Saints at number 4. Fifth-seeded Lawrence Tech finished at 13-7 and Rochester came in at No. 6 with a 12-8 record.

A three-way time then had to be broken to decide the final two teams. Concordia, UNOH, and Lourdes all ended with 6-14 WHAC records. Concordia was awarded the seventh seed based on the better win against common opponent Rochester. UNOH then won the tiebreaker with Lourdes based on winning percentage against non-WHAC NAIA DII teams. 

The tournament opens with the higher seeds hosting on Wednesday, Feb. 20. The winner of the conference tournament receives the league's second automatic berth to the NAIA Division II Women's Basketball National Championship in Sioux City, Iowa.
