[Women's Basketball] Indiana Tech repeats as Women's Basketball Champions
Indiana Tech held its own destiny during the final week of the 2018-19 Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) women's basketball season. The Warriors cruised through three quarters of their schedule riding a 23-game winning streak before losing back-to-back two conference games during the first couple of weeks in February. With two leagues losses (one to Siena Heights and one to Aquinas), the Warriors needed to win out for sole possession of first place. Tech posted victories in its last two conference games for its second championship title with an 18-2 conference record. Aquinas finished second with a 16-4 record and UM-Dearborn and Siena Heights tied for third.
With the conference championship comes the first seed designation for the Warriors in the WHAC Tournament starting Feb. 20 on campus sites and also receives the league's first automatic berth to the NAIA Division II Women's Basketball National Championship in Sioux City, Iowa.
