Andre Iguodala elected as NBPA First Vice President
The Warriors veteran continues to make his mark on and off the court.
Andre Iguodala continues to make his mark in the NBA, not just on the court with the Golden State Warriors, but off the court with the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA).
On Monday the NBPA Executive Committee elected Iguodala to the role of First Vice President. The former All-Star and NBA Finals MVP will begin a four-year term immediately, and will take over for LeBron James (Los Angeles Lakers), whose term subsequently expired.

Prior to the election, Iguodala had served a pair of three-year terms as a Vice President of the Executive Committee. For the last term, he had shared that distinction with teammate Steph Curry, as well as with Carmelo Anthony.
All of those terms expired, and Iguodala, Curry, and Anthony were replaced by Bismack Biyombo (Charlotte Hornets), Malcolm Brogdon (Milwaukee Bucks), and Jaylen Brown (Boston Celtics).
While Curry and Anthony move on from the NBPA, Iguodala moves up, and will work alongside NBPA President Chris Paul (Houston Rockets), Secretary-Treasurer Anthony Tolliver (Minnesota Timberwolves), and the three other Vice Presidents of the Executive Committee, Pau Gasol (San Antonio Spurs), CJ McCollum (Portland Trail Blazers), and Garrett Temple (Los Angeles Clippers).
By the time Iguodala’s term expires, he will have served the NBPA for a decade, which is mighty impressive. Might a run for a political position follow?
