Iraqi woman gives birth to septuplets naturally

An unnamed Iraqi woman has given birth to six girls and a boy in a natural birth at a hospital in eastern Iraq,.

The mother has been reported to be in 'perfect condition' post the labour. The babies are apparently in good condition too. Local media reports suggest that it's the first ever septuplet birth in the country. The children's father, who is now the parent of ten children, has said that he is certainly not looking to expand the family anytime soon and intends to look after the kids, Indiaglitz.com reports.

Last year, a woman in Lebanon apparently gave birth to sextuplets, three girls and three boys, all of whom survived the birth. The first set of septuplets were born to a US couple in 1997 in Iowa who are popularly known as the McCaughey septuplets.
