Former Tottenham midfielder admits he wishes he still played for Spurs
Former Tottenham midfielder Nabil Bentaleb has admitted part of him wishes he still played for Spurs.
Bentaleb, who now plays for Schalke, is set to come up against Manchester City in the Champions League Round of 16 this week.
The 24-year-old was an important part of the Tottenham team during Mauricio Pochettino’s first season at the club, forming an impressive partnership with Ryan Mason in central midfield.
However, injuries and arguments with Pochettino led to his exit, initially on loan and then permanently.
In an interview with the Independent, Bentaleb admitted he wishes he still played for Spurs.“I would be a hypocrite to say that I would not like to be there, and I am not a hypocrite. But this is football,” he said.
