Gunman fires into SUV, striking driver in the back
A hooded gunman fired a gun into an SUV in the Bronx, wounding a 27-year-old man, startling video released by police Tuesday shows.
The gunman, his face covered with a grey hood, walked up to the vehicle, idling at a hydrant near E. 199th St. and the Grand Concourse in Jerome Park, about 10:30 p.m. Saturday, officials said.
Surveillance video shows the car inching forward as the gunman pulls out a pistol and fires one round, shattering the SUV's rear window, before running off down the street.
The driver was struck in the back, officials said. Medics rushed him to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
The suspect is described as Hispanic or white and between 20 and 30. He was wearing a black jacket with multiple patches on its front, back and arms, a grey hoodie, grey sweatpants and white sneakers.
