Burnley player makes Juan Foyth revelation

Burnley striker Ashley Barnes revealed after their 2-1 win against Tottenham Hotspur that they had targeted young defender Juan Foyth.

The central defender whose raw talent is there to see had a torrid afternoon at Turf Moor after he was bullied by the physicality of the Clarets.

Foyth was put under intense pressure while in possession which limited his time on the ball and struggled to make decisions.

Chris Wood also rose above Foyth to head in Burnley’s opening goal from a controversial corner which should not have been awarded to the home side.

Replays showed the ball came off a Burnley player last following Jan Vertonghen’s sliding challenge.
