Another life snuffed out on city roads

A rashly driven car rammed a bike near Krishna Mandir Chowk, Model Town Extension, this morning killing the motorcyclist on the spot. The entire incident has been captured on a CCTV camera.

After the accident, passers-by thrashed the car driver and later handed him over to the police. The deceased has been identified as Abhimanyu (26), a resident of Vishal Nagar. The car driver has been identified as Amanpreet Singh, a resident of Sargodha Colony.
According to information, the incident occurred around 7.50 am.

Gagan Kumar, father of the deceased, said his son worked at the office of a property dealer. Today, he left home saying that he was going to collect payment from some party. About an hour later, he was informed by the police that his son had died in a road mishap.
According to the police, Abhimanyu was coming from the Jawaddi bridge side while the car was coming from the Baba Deep Singh Nagar. The car was at such a high speed that the bike was flung metres away from the accident spot. Passersby rushed the biker to the nearby private hospital where the doctors declared him brought in dead.

Eyewitnesses said the collision was so intense that the biker's helmet was broken.
