The federal government is poised to announce a multi-billion dollar aid and recovery package for flood-affected farmers and communities in North Queensland on Friday. Prime Minister Scott Morrison's cheme includes up to $2 billion in low-cost loans for farmers and seed funding to restock. It is estimated up to half a million cattle were killed during unparallelled flooding in the region in February.
