[Men's Basketball] Wayland Baptist's Culver Reels in SAC Player of Year

OKLAHOMA CITY – Wayland Baptist's J.J. Culver was selected as the Sooner Athletic Conference men's basketball player of the year according to votes cast by the league's head coaches. 

Culver, a 6-foot-4 junior guard out of Lubbock, Texas, led fifth-ranked Wayland Baptist to the regular-season title. Culver averaged 17.8 points and 6.6 rebounds per game to go with 91 assists, 50 steals, and 10 blocks. Culver rates among the top 10 in the SAC in five categories including scoring, field-goal percentage, steals per game, rebounding and assists a game.
