[Women's Golf] Women's Golf Falcons Ink Lexi Gutierrez for 2019-20 Season
WICHITA, Kan. – The Friends University Falcon women's golf program has signed Lexi Gutierrez to the team for the 2019-20 season.
Having played golf since the age of 10, Gutierrez has been a three-year standout performer at Cleveland High School in Rio Rancho, N.M.
A three-time All-District and two-time All-Metro selection, Gutierrez helped the Cleveland HS Storm to a runner-up 6A finish at the state tournament last season while finishing eighth overall during her junior year.
Her sophomore result at the state tourney was even better, coming in as the runner-up while the Storm posted a third-place finish.
Gutierrez also made a significant impact as a freshman, earning the first of her three All-District honors while finishing ninth in state to contribute to the Storm capturing the 6A state championship.
"I feel very honored that someone of Lexi's talent and high school success would choose Friends University," Friends head coach Paul Howe said. "She has a very high ceiling and will really help take the team to the next level."
