Home Depot to hire 80,000 associates for Spring

Home Depot Inc. said Tuesday it plans to hire 80,000 associates at its 2,000 U.S. stores and more than 100 distribution centers this spring. The home-improvement retailer said it will add seasonal, part-time and full-time workers at departments, including overnight freight, garden, customer service and merchandising. Shares were not yet active premarket, but have gained 1.1% in the last 12 months, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average , which counts Home Depot as a member, has gained 3.8% and the S&P 500 has gained 2.6%.
