Atiku salutes Obasanjo at 82, says ex-president has given to Nigeria more than anybody
The presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar, in just concluded 2019 election congratulated the former president, Olusegun Obasanjo, who marked his 82th birthday on Tuesday, March 5.
In a message he wrote on his facebook wall, ex-vice president said thus: “A very happy 82nd birthday to you, Olusegun Obasanjo.
''No living Nigerian has given as much to Nigeria in peacetime and in war as you have. May almighty God grant you many more years in good health and continued service to Nigeria and the world at large.”

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that the presidential candidate of PDP, Atiku Abubakar, offered insights into why he met with members of the National Peace Committee on Thursday, February 28, in Abuja.
He said he met with the committee to demand unconditional release of party members illegally arrested and detained for political reasons in the just-concluded presidential election.
Abubakar made the call ahead of the March 9 governorship and state House of Assembly elections when he and PDP leaders met with the National Peace Committee, in a statement issued by his media adviser, Paul Ibe, on Friday, March 1, in Abuja.

He also called for the non- deployment of the military in compliance with constitutional provisions and the subsisting judgment of the court.
Abubakar and his team claimed that the February 23 presidential election was the worst in the history of the country since the return to democracy in 1999.
