My Diastasis Recti

Diastasis recti (also known as abdominal separation) is commonly defined as a gap of roughly 2.7 cm or greater between the two sides of the rectus abdominis muscle. This condition has no associated morbidity or mortality. It's a condition usually associated with women after giving birth.

So last year I went to have my appendix removed at a public hospital. Public health care is free in South Africa, but you have to accept that it probably won't be the best treatment. In my case, a bunch of students picking up some practical experience. Long story short, I got a bit butchered.

I'm looking into ways of getting my ab muscles reattached, but for the time being, this is what I have to live with.
