Water Proof/Resistant Cycling Jackets?

My wife and I are booked for a Costa Rica adventure in July and one of the suggestions was to bring a water proof/resistant jacket for a mountain bike trail that is planned for one of the days we're down there. I have a wind jacket but I'm not so sure it will repel water very well.
