Stocks finish mostly unchanged in topsy-turvy trading session
U.S. stocks struggled for direction on Tuesday, spending most of the session jumping between gains and losses before closing mostly unchanged. At the closing bell, the Dow Jones Industrial Average had fallen less than 0.1%, closing at 25,807, the S&P 500 fell 0.1% to 2,789 and the Nasdaq Composite Index was unchanged at 7,576. Investors are still fretting the outcome of the ongoing trade talks between the U.S. and China. In individual stocks, shares of Target Corp. rose 4.6% after the retail giant reported better-than-expected fourth-quarter same store sales, while shares of electric car maker Tesla fell 3.1% after Barclays analyst Brian Johnson cut his price target to $192 from $210.
