How PDP destroyed Anambra - Willie Obiano opens up

The Anambra state governor, Willie Obiano, on Wednesday, March 5, accused the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of burning and destroying public utilities in the state in 2002.

Daily Independent reports that Obiano said the PDP plunged state into confusion due to its desperation for power which led to the destruction of government establishments in the state.

Speaking at the Dr. Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka while addressing members of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) ahead of the state's House of Assembly election, Obiano said the timely intervention of the APGA government restored all that were demolished and destroyed by the PDP in Anambra.

Adding that his administration focused on grassroots development , the governor said he had institutionalized community-driven projects across the 179 communities in Anambra.

He further called on members of the party to support his government by voting massively for all APGA candidates in the forthcoming state House of Assembly elections.

Meanwhile, Legi.ng previously reported that Obiano had denied stories making the round that he has dumped his party, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) for another party.

The governor said the reports are calculated attempts by the opposition to discredit him and his party, adding that he remains the national leader and chairman board of trustees of APGA.

Governor Obiano made the clarification in a statement signed by the commissioner for information in the state, Chief C. Don Adinuba, urging the public to discountenance such report.

The governor said such malicious and undignified statements thrive during election periods and the opposition parties would always exploit such avenues in a bid towards winning election.
