An European man identified as Michal Prasek has been killed by his pet lioness. The man was found dead in his lion's cage at his family home in Czech Republic. The 33-year-old man was found by his father.

According to BBC, Prasek owned a nine-year-old car and a lioness for breeding. It was gathered that he had bought the lion in 2016 and the lioness in 2018.

Prasek had reportedly built separate pens for the lion and lioness. On arriving at the scene, the police had shot the animals dead in other to get Prasek's corpse in the cage.

A police spokesperson said: "It was absolutely necessary to get to the man."

The 33-year-old man had reportedly kept them both in home-made enclosures in his back yard in the village of Zdechov.

It was gathered that Prasek and his pets had drawn concern among local residents. Prasek was previously denied permission to build the pens for the lion and lioness.

The deceased man had been fined for illegal breeding. His case had reportedly reached a stalemate after he refused to let anyone on his property and the fact that there was no evidence of animal cruelty meant the lions could not be removed forcefully.
