Police removed people from a packed Sacramento council meeting on Tuesday, March 5, after crowd members stood on tables and protested a decision not to charge police officers involved in the shooting of Stephon Clark. The Sacramento City Hall was at capacity on Tuesday night as community members gathered to voice frustration at the way police treated participants in a protest on Monday night where about 84 people were arrested including journalists and pastors. Residents also reiterated demands for Sacramento police to be held responsible for the death of black man Stephon Clark who was killed by officers on March 18, 2018. In this video, filmed by local journalist Joe Michaels, a man stands on a table during public speaking time and encourages the crowd to shout with him. The mayor can then be heard calling a recess. The council meeting did continue after a break, according to a Twitter update. Other attendees were also filmed speaking heatedly to council members, cheering, and standing on desks.
