Armenian premier 'hopeful' to finalize gas supply terms with Russia in 2019
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has unveiled certain details of his government's ongoing negotiations with Russia over the supply prices of natural gas.
In an interview with the news agency TASS, the premier expressed hope that a final agreement will be reached over lower tarriffs until late 2019. The premier said he also expects the negotiated terms to promote not only the Armenian-Russian relations but also offer benefits to other economic players across the EAEU region.
''Given that the EAEU aims to create a common economic zone, it is important to ensure equal prices for energy carries in the structure of the cost price across that space to contribute to its accomplishment,'' he said.
Pashinyan added that Armenia keeps the topic high on the agenda in not only the negotiation with the Russian partners but also in the frameworks of the EAEU Supreme Council and other bodies.
