Armenia-NATO cooperation discussed in Yerevan
Minister of Defense Davit Tonoyan on Monday received James Appathurai, Deputy Assistant of the NATO Secretary General for Political Affairs and Security Policy, and Special Representative of the Secretary General for the Caucasus and Central Asia.
The NATO official is in Yerevan to attend the weeklong events dedicated to the activities and mission of the North Atlantic Alliance.
According to a press release by the Ministry of Defense, the sides discussed the implementation of the Individual Partnership Action Plan, highlighting Armenia’s participation in the NATO peacekeeping and stability maintenance missions in Kosovo and Afghanistan.
Appathurai thanked the minister for the initiative to organize the NATO Week in Armenia. and a high-ranking conference on the organization's code of conduct on the sidelines of the event. Regional security issues were also part of the meeting agenda.
