Trump asks for $8.6 billion for wall in massive budget proposal that seeks to gut social safety net programs

President Trump isn’t taking no for an answer.

The White House rolled out a long-shot federal budget proposal Monday that is asking for $8.6 billion for the construction of Trump’s long-sought Mexican border wall — a virtual nonstarter demand since Congress has already rejected a lesser request.
